So sou ek my 1050kv motor met 16 volt voorsien behoort hy teen 1050 x 16 = 16800 RPM te draai sonder enige lading.

The official specifications are somewhat of a trivial matter. You see, brands aren’t lying when they say, f.e., their model has up to 30 minutes of flight time, but in reality, that flight time is actually 25 minutes. There’s a lot of variables that affect the airtime of a drone, and they all need to be taken into consideration when presenting us with a number. Unfortunately (for the customers of course), brands usually measure official specifications in optimal environments to create a better picture of their product. In other words, they don’t necessarily lie to us, they just skew the truth slightly in their favor. And everyone does it. I’m not name-calling here for that simple reason – everyone does it… and it seems as though we, as customers, already came to terms with that since we are merely silently protesting on various RC forums instead of doing something about it.

This sensor type works in a similar way to CCD with the addition of extra circuitry (amplifiers) in each pixel which does extra work as soon as data arrives. This leads to a better power consumption but has certain issues; biggest one being the rolling shutter issue. However, they are cheaper to manufacture and consume less power which is why they’re used in virtually all day-to-day tech gadgets like smartphones and laptops.

In 2014, with funding from the venture firm Andreessen Horowitz, the company began working on what would become the R1. Skydio has since raised $70 million from Andreessen and several other investors, including Institutional Venture Partners, Playground Global and the basketball player Kevin Durant.

Roughly 2 kilometers of range (when you’re operating via its dedicated controller) and 15 minutes of flight time are more than a pleasant combination. You’re getting plenty of time for selfies and aerial shots and decent range for exploring that weird noise down the street at 4 AM… Do you agree this is one of the best starter drones?

Selfie Drones come in a variety of designs, most are slim or compact, some are pocket size and foldable, all are designed with portability in mind. They can be easily packed or carried and once launched, position itself correctly, do it’s task and return. Some will even let you share your shots on social media with the push of a button.

Slowly but surely, we are reaching the most expensive drones in this list. This beefy little fella is one of Hubsan’s top models, ready to make a proper name for itself out there on the market. It sports a sleek design and looks (feels) pretty damn sturdy. But, what else can Hubsan H109S provide us with?

Our personal recommendation is the Altair Aerial AA108, which we did a full review of here. Short version: the AA108 is a phenomenal choice for beginners because it’s extremely tough, has a lot of beginner-focused features that make it really easy to fly, and only costs $130. It’s an all-around good choice that gets more difficult as you get more capable thanks to multiple speed modes and flight patterns. Fair warning, though – it doesn’t do well in wind, so you might want to avoid it if you live in someplace with a lot of inclement weather. You can read reviews and shop for the AA108 here.
