With this in mind, we’ve found the best selfie drones currently on the market. These drones are small, equipped with good quality cameras, typically work using an app on your smartphone, and are worlds better than any other camera option.

This is my first quadracopter purchase, so I didn’t know what to expect. So far, I’m very pleased. There’s a learning curve for the novice flyer. I planned use to inspect the roof, but have found many other more fun uses, such as chasing my kids through the house and yard, all while capturing the moments with the camera. The images are surprisingly stable and clear too. I just wish the battery life and strength where better. All in all, its good for the money!

As mentioned earlier, the Drone is controlled using your smartphone over a WiFi connection. Its flight time is about 10 minutes or less, which is typical of small drones and needs about 45 minutes to fully charge.

Autel Robotics has had a huge success with its X-Star Premium camera drone. It is not a surprising fact considering the sheer build quality alongside all of its top-notch features. The first thing you will notice about this camera birdie is its bright orange color. One thing is for sure – it definitely makes X-Star Premium stand out from all other top-tier drones. Is there anything else that makes it stand out in front of the competition? Why don’t we take a sneaky little peak and see for ourselves…

Aton by Traxxas is one of those under-appreciated models which can, with the inclusion of a solid action camera, turn into an incredibly powerful hybrid model. Let’s take a closer look at it to see what exactly can it offer!

The race for companies to build and manufacture affordable drones is nothing new: Since the release of even the Dji Phantom 2, there have been companies that have made it their priority to have drones on the shelves at under the $100 and $40 price point. Consumers have been thrilled to learn how to hover, dip, and land, and the last two years even brought about tiny micro drones that were under $25, even though there was no camera included.

That makes it easier to control the steering of the quadcopter. In normal use, forward is whichever way the quadcopter is facing. With Headless Mode enabled, forward is whichever way the pilot is facing, irrelevant of the quadcopter’s orientation.

Speaking of future pro drone pilots and value. You don’t have to spend $200 plus dollars to pass the UAG Exam. There are plenty of low cost and event free online tutorials. In my case, I used a GooglePlay app call UAS107. Used it for 70% (30% FREE YouTube sectional chart videos) of my prep for the exam; and the app only cost me $4. Passed on my 1st try with an 85%. My total cost to pass the exam:

A great resource to learn about flying drones is the Academy of Model (AMA). The AMA can also help you find drone enthusiasts and remote-control flying clubs in your area. Connecting with others who are interested in drones is an excellent way to find out where to fly and learn proper flying techniques and advanced tips and tricks. These clubs meet regularly to talk about, fly and even race drones.

I recently added two batteries that came with a charger that will recharge 5 batteries at once. The batteries fit in the CW4 and last as long or perhaps a bit longer than the original batteries, a good value.
