In addition traditional joystick style controls, you can fly with simple tap-based commands, and the Mavic can even recognize gestures for the perfect selfie. DJI Mavic Pro (Standard Bundle). DJI GO App-Based Control and Monitoring.

Back to the big boys now. The AirDog is a foldable drone that is meant to take selfie videos of action sports. This is quite apparent when you consider that it has five dedicated flight modes each customized for a certain action sport, like surfing, bicycle riding, windsurfing, etc.

Now it is back to you, what did you think? Do you agree with my recommendations or did we miss a great drone that we shouldn’t? Please tell us in the comments below and do not forget to share this article on social media.

is a low-cost quadcopter with camera aimed at good image quality usage. It is the HD upgraded version of the U818A. U818A-1 includes the best HD camera at the lowest price in the market, a real HD 2MP resolution! Capable of recording in a resolution of 1280 x 720; at 30 frames per second. If you prioritise camera quality, and your budget is limited, then this is the drone for you, currently in the market there isn’t a cheaper drone than this. Besides the great image quality, U818A-1 has an average flight time of 4 to 6 minutes, powered by a 3.7V 500mAh lipo battery. Control distance is only 30 meters, but considering the quality the camera for such an affordable price it is normal that the manufacturer had to cut somewhere. Also, this drone is aimed at beginners looking for a good camera, therefore control distance of 30 meters should be enough.

If you’ve been looking for a cheap drone that knocks it out of the park when it comes to durability and speed, you really need to check out the Altair Aerial Blackhawk. We’re big fans of other offerings from Altair Aerial and the Blackhawk is their most advanced quadcopter yet. This drone is super fast, has a flight time of up to 15 minutes, and it can go a long way for a drone in this price range (300 Meters).

But not only is it popular, it looks cool as well. With 1 pair of black and 1 pair of white blades surrounded by built-in prop guards, this drone has quite a sexy look to it. Still, when it comes to flight range it is only capable of going up to 100 meters. Luckily, its flight duration improves its image – you can get around 9 minutes on a full charge. Get an extra battery and you’ll have close to 20 minutes of flight time (with 1 pit stop, needless to say) which is kind of crazy for such a cheap drone.

Although the Spark is not a foldable selfie-drone, you can see that it’s size is so small that it’s very portable. And just like the Mavic, it can take selfies simply by gesturing – so you don’t even need to be holding a remote control!

The camera snaps photos, of course, with a burst mode to make sure you “trap” the perfect picture. Video is grabbed at 1080p/30fps. Zerotech told me the camera is similar to that found in phones like the Xioami Mi 4. The idea being, a mobile-style shooter takes better personal photos — no fisheye, or wide angle weirdness. The similarities with a phone don’t end there, as there’s also a Snapdragon 801 processor running the show. Those brains aren’t powering apps, though, instead it’s put to use to drive the smart features, of which there are a few. Maybe too many?

Fully integrated with the smartphone app which controls it, you’re ready to upload your pictures as soon as you take them. Once you’ve taken your photos and videos with the Yuneec Breeze, downloading and sharing via social media is quick and easy. Just select the photo or video you would like to share and choose which social network you would like to share to and you’re done – all without leaving the app interface. It’s that simple.

That’s everything you need to know for now. Make sure you’re up to speed with FAA regulations before you take to the skies. And consider a quadcopter as your first drone for the reasons mentioned above.

Just a heads-up before answering the next few questions – there’s no “one size fits all” methodology on the line when it comes to GPS, Altitude hold, hardware stabilization and range. It’s all a highly subjective matter and instead of telling you what to buy, I’m going to give you my honest opinion about how I think the matter should be. So, let’s kick it off with GPS.

DJI Mavic Pro is very easy to fly despite its high quality and sophistication. My advice is to stay well away from the Sport Mode until you’re comfortable and familiar with all the drone’s basic features.

You can get the drone in a couple different colors. There is a black and white version, but it is currently out of stock on many websites. The other version is a black and blue version. The drone itself only weighs 85 grams. And it is a very affordable price to purchase one of the 720X drones. Typically, they’re being sold for nearly $200. But right now, they have a special offer, single units are 50% off and you can pick them up for only $99. There is free delivery with the drones and there are only a limited number of them.

DJI Mavic Pro is an excellent aerial photography platform thanks to the amazing 4K ready camera with its own dedicated 4-axis gimbal. Smallest one in the world actually. Needless to say, it’s capable of delivering professional-grade footage… toe to toe with Phantom 4 which is a full sized flagship quadcopter by DJI. That’s all thanks to the 1/2.3-inch 12MPX sensor found inside. It does its job in an astonishing manner.

Another cool aspect of the mini flying machine is that once you learn the controls you can pilot it yourself and do some pretty cool aerial stunts. There are even people these days that race drones professionally. You’ll be able to perform stunts like flips and roles with this drone, all while taking crystal clear videos.

The ZEROTECH Dobby Pocket Selfie Drone is definitely one of the best small selfie quadcopter available on the market. The video quality might not be 4K but is none the less, very good, especially compared to some of the slightly less expensive quadcopters.

There are some important points you need to consider when picking your first drone. Mainly the question you need to ask is if you want an everyday, all purpose drone or a specialty drone like a Photography drone. If you just an enthusiast who wants a good drone, then pick a drone under $100 or under $50 according to you budget. Also Make sure to check out the list of best drones under $100 dollars of 2018 (New Arrivals).

To top it all off, this little fella can fly up to 7 kilometers (yes, you read that right) and its respective flight duration varies from 25 – 27 minutes, even with the camera turned on. These numbers are truly amazing, but people tend to expect amazing things from a drone that costs more than a small fortune.

Selfie Drones come in a variety of designs, most are slim or compact, some are pocket size and foldable, all are designed with portability in mind. They can be easily packed or carried and once launched, position itself correctly, do it’s task and return. Some will even let you share your shots on social media with the push of a button.

Absolutely perfect for any age or skill level, the Aura uses hand gestures to control it. Strap the “controller” onto your hand and you tilt your hand up and down to fly it away from you and back again. Tilt to the left to go left and to the right to go right. Press and hold a button under your thumb and the same movements let you raise and lower it or flip it left and right. Level out your hand and it will hover in place. Also, with the props are completely protected, so it just bounces off walls or whatever if you drift off course.
